Kellie 2 Kellie 4 Jennifer Jennifer 1Kellie Pickler is one of "American Idol's" greatest contestants, even though she didn't win the show's title. Kellie Pickler was born the 28th June in 1986 Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. Her parents are Cynthia Morton and Clyde Raymond Pickler. The mother of the child was just sixteen when she fell expecting her. Pickler experienced a challenging childhood due to her addiction to drugs and alcohol dependency, as her mother abandoned her after the age of 2. Morton managed to get custody of Pickler for two years. However, Pickler acknowledged that not all went as planned. "I was sitting in the kitchen with my mother and said to her: 'I would rather die than stay here.' She pulled out a knife and placed it on the counter, and then said"Here's what you need to do then.' The time was fourth grade. Of course I never would had acted on it yet it's left an awful amount of emotional damage," she said. Pickler was eventually given to her grandparents by the court once she was 12. Morton failed to appear at the hearing. Pickler was raised by her grandparents throughout her entire life. She cited them as the primary influence in her life. In January 2002, her grandmother Faye Pickler passed away from lung cancer. She was raised by her grandfather. Pickler has graduated from North Stanly high school in New London (North Carolina).
